I am assistant professor in organisational communication at Aarhus University, Department of Information and Media Studies. I hold an MA in Information Studies and Organizational Psychology from the University of Aarhus and a PH.D. in Media Sociography from the IT-University of Copenhagen.
I have taught and done research at the university of Aalborg Department of Humanistisk Informatik, at Aarhus University, Department of Information and Media Studies and at the IT-University of Copenhagen.
Since 2001 I have been member of The Centre for Internet Research. I am also a member of The Association of Danish Media Researchers (SMID), International Sociological Association (ISA), Research Committee 51 on Sociocybernetics (RC 51) and Media Ecology Association (MEA). I am moderator on three mailing lists Sociocybernetic (about 400 members), the Danish Luhmann Forum (about 300 members) and Centre for Internet Research´ mailing list Forum for internetforskning (about 40 members).
I work tight together with Michael Eric Paulsen and we have made many projects togather e.g. courses and seminars.I also have a great cooperation with my Ph.D-superviesers Anker Helms Jørgensen and Berit Holmqvist. Also the colleges from the Danish Luhmann network I have a good cooperation with, they are primary: Lars Qvortrup, Gorm Harste, Ole Thyssen, Ole Bjerg and Søren Brier who runs the journal Cybernetics & and Human Knowing (Søren is also a member of RC 51 as I am). Also in the international Luhmann community I want to point at some very good colleges Loet Leydesdorff, Dirk Baecker and Mike Terpstra. I also have a great network among medium theorists, in Denmark they are especially Niels Ole Finnemann and Biels Brügger and in the US I want to mention Lance Strate and Robert Logan.
